Arunachal Pradesh has one of the oldest histories in India. There are several people who come to this state as a result of the unique historical importance that it occupies.

This state was a part of the British Empire in India. There are many historical places in Arunachal Pradesh as a result of such historical significance.

This has resulted in an increased output in the numbers of the tourists to this state. The historical places in Arunachal Pradesh include Talung Dzong, Bhalukpong, Dikang Dzong, Jameri, Gyuto Tantric University, Dimachung-Betali and the Lha-gyala Gonpa.

These places also form the backbone of the tourism industry within the state as they are frequented by tourists.Talung Dzong is an important Arunachal Pradesh historical place as it was the site where a monastic rule was formed during the period of the 12th century A.D.

The Dzong building is associated with Guru Padma Sambhawa’s tradition. This Dzong was also empowered with the right to collect the Annual Tax from the areas of Tukpan and also certain places in Assam.

Apart from it, the other historical places in Arunachal Pradesh include Dikang Dzong. This is an important monument belonging to the 17th century A.D. It was also the hub of judicial as well as military activities.

This two storied monument was constructed using gargantuan stone slabs. Bhalukpong also occupies an extremely important position among the various Arunachal Pradesh historical places.

There are several forts that belong to the times between the 10th and the 12th centuries. These forts are believed to be of some of the defeated rulers of Assam.

The Jameri Megalithic site is a historical place in Arunachal Pradesh as it is quite different from the other attractions.

It is a megalithic island situated away from the Khasi-Jaintia Cachar-Naga belt. It has great value to the locals.

The historical places in Arunachal Pradesh were the ruins of Dimachung Betali on the Rowta forest. The bricks and the remnants were found here.

The Arunachal Pradesh historical places include the Gyuto Tantric University sited at Tenzin gaon. The Gyuto Tantric Monastery has 14 rooms with a huge assembly hall and was inaugurated by the Arunachal Pradesh governor.

The monastery holds training to acquaint with monks. The Lha gyala Gonpa is important as the princess Khan Dro Drowa Zangmo became the queen and this was her birth place. All the historical places reflect the depth of this place.
