Wildlife in Arunachal Pradesh

The north eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh is the home for a variety of wildlife. Due geographical location and altitude climatic conditions, there large variety of rare species found in jungles of Arunachal Pradesh.

The hilly terrain and different type of forest facilitates perfect living condition for wildlife providing food and natural shelter. Arunachal Pradesh has four wild life sanctuaries and two nation parks.

Arunachal Pradesh wildlife includes Takim, Musk Deer, Mishmi, Hisbid Hare, Hoolock Gibbon, Bharal and Flying Squirrel. The wildlife of Arunachal Pradesh includes more than 500 rare species.

Less density of population in most of the region of Arunachal Pradesh facilitates free movements of wildlife.Namdapha National Park is sheltering varieties of rare species and also one of the protected areas in this region.

The unique elevated landscape ranging from 300 meter to 4500 meter with variety of forests provides perfect atmosphere for wildlife such as tigers, large cats, snow leopard and clouded leopard.

The wildlife of Arunachal Pradesh also consists of species such as Marbled Cat, Golden Cat, Hoolock Gibbon, Rhesus Macaque, Assamese Macaques, Stumptail Macaques, and Pigtailed Macaque. The other inhabitants of Namdapha National Park are variety of goat antelopes such as Serow, Takin and Goral. Takin is found only in Arunachal Pradesh wildlife.Arunachal Pradesh wildlife includes the large mammals, Mittan.

This is a cross breed of the domestic cattle and the wild Gaur. Elephant and buffalo are found in the adjacent hills and plains. The wildlife of Arunachal Pradesh includes high altitude animals such as Red panda and Himalayan Black bear.

In some areas you can find the musk deer. The smaller mammals include the rodents, porcupine, rats, squirrels, mongoose, shrews, civet, linsang and bat. Arunachal Pradesh has over five hundred species of birds that are highly endangered.

The wildlife of Arunachal Pradesh has rare species such as Scalter monal, Bengal florican, and wood duck white winged, etc.

this has the largest pheasant species at various altitudes. Arunachal Pradesh wildlife is rich in amphibian, Pisces and reptiles.

The snakes and pythons of various colors as well as descriptions are easily found in the forests at all levels.The faunal communities are located in the evergreen forest as they are dense. Various species of moths, butterflies and beetles are seen in common. The animals are the treasure and in these places where the forest area is in abundance, lots of rare species of animals and birds are seen and are a great pleasure to the tourists.
