The Arunachal Pradesh dances can be varied on the basis of occasion as well as tradition.

The occasional dances are considered to be the special dances of Arunachal Pradesh and are performed at particular festivals and are a part of every celebration at home.

The traditional dances are not very recreational, but are surely a part and parcel of the rituals and this makes them specific.

Apart from these dances, the dance dramas are also performed by the Arunachal Pradesh people. Though dance and music are an integral part of any culture, Arunachal Pradesh is not very specific about its performance.

The Arunachal Pradesh dance dramas are typically based on the mythical stories and have concealed moral of this drama.

These dance dramas have plots that are narrative presenting the story as well as its events with music; dance and audience really watch them with enthusiasm. Dances of Arunachal Pradesh comprise of folk dances of various tribes who are the inhabitants of this region since the antiquity period.

The Wancho dance is one such dance that is performed by a tribe called Wancho. This is an occasional dance performed during special ceremonies.The other dance is the Khampti dance that is also done by the Khampti community alone.

The point in this dance is it is a descriptive dance based on some story and also has a hidden lesson. The Arunachal Pradesh dance includes the Buiya and the Ponung dance performed by the Digaru Mishmis and the Adi tribes.

The former dance is performed to enjoy the prosperity of the community as well as the good health of the entire community.

The actions and the steps of the dancers depict gratitude to the God as well as the Goddess and this is expressed in the merriment of the occasion.

The Ponung dance is specific that the women of this community seek blessings of the God for good harvest.

This dance is considered as auspicious and Adi tribe has a ritual of setting their foot on every encouraging and auspicious occasion.

All these dances of Arunachal Pradesh are rare and danced only within the state. The dances of Arunachal Pradesh depict gratitude to god and the dances are very traditional.

The Arunachal Pradesh dances are unique and the use of props and other items are different in each state and so are with this state. This is a lively state and performs arts such as dances to please the inhabitants of the state.
