The Shimla conference held in 1914
drew a border between Tibet and British India. The initial two decades
after the conference did not show that as a border even during the
survey of India.
Later in 1937, it published a map
showing official boundary and in 1944, British founded their
administrations. In 1947, Tibet changed its position and unilaterally
India announced the boundary and compelled the Tibetan administration
to keep out of the Tawang area.
In 1962, china declared victory and
withdrew the boundary line and thereby returned all the Indian
prisoners. The Arunachal Pradesh history is interesting.
The word Arunachal means the land of
rising sun and is scenic as it has lovely villages, hamlets and
townships presenting the Arunachal Pradesh history in an interesting
manner.
