Delhi is a city where the concept of
time seems to be invalid. Once a person enters the city, he gets so
involved in the lifestyle of the locals that he forgets the time of his
stay.
Within a flash, the time of staying in
the city comes to an end and the tourist longs to extend his trip the
next time he arrives to this phenomenal city.
The Delhi monuments are equally
important to the city. After all, the monuments of Delhi are the throbs
of the city’s tourism industry.
The city has a splendid tourist base
upon which an excellent tower has been built.Humayan’s tomb is one of
the famous Delhi monuments. This monument was constructed by Haji
Begum, the wife of Humayun.

This tomb was architected in the middle of
the 16th century. This tomb is a fine illustration of the Mughal type
of architecture. Humayun’s wife is buried in the same tomb. The entry
of this tomb is free on every Friday.
Another splendid monument of Delhi is the
Old Fort. This fort is supposed to be the spot where Indraprastha, the
legendary capital of the Pandavas stood. Presently, the Department of
Delhi Tourism conducts a light and sound show in this fort.

The Delhi monuments include the
Safdarjung Tomb. This was built by the Nawab of Avadh and is the finest
illustration of architecture and is the remains of a dying empire.
The monuments of Delhi are splendid
and one such monument is the Jantar Mantar. This has an excellent
collection of colored structures.
The amazing part is that many
astronomical movements can be calculated accurately with these
observatories. Red Fort is also the most preferred monument built on
River Yamuna.
The evenings are excellent at Red Fort
as the light and sound show narrates the Delhi history. The Lahore gate
has lots of emotions attached.

This is a shopping arcade called Mina
Bazaar and is a favorite haunt for women. The best and remarkable
monument of Delhi is the Qutub Minar. This is one of the highest,
finest and best Islamic structures that has been raised and is seen as
the landmark of Delhi.
Delhi monuments are many, yet certain
monuments captivate your heart. The amazing structures and their
architecture is awe-inspiring and leaves the tourists dumbstruck. The
Qutub Minar is prominent even today as the interiors are decorated
profusely with calligraphy and is beautiful, though the dome collapsed.
