Goa is a destination that is famous
for its beaches. Apart from these beaches, there are other monuments
that can be visited. The entire state of Goa has a long history.
There are several historical monuments
in the state to prove this claim. Most of the Goa monuments were built
during the Portuguese rule.
Unfortunately, many such monuments of
Goa have been destroyed by the passing of time and today, only their
remains are left back to leave us thinking about the structure of such
monuments.
Apart from Portuguese buildings, there
are a very few edifices dating to the pre-Portuguese era.Most of these
monuments are safely preserved and protected by the Goan Government as
well as the Archaeological Survey of India.
