Tourism has sprouted from a seed to a
massive tree the braches of which cover the world and its shadow is
being enjoyed by every single person. There are several tourist
destinations in the world.
One such important and famous tourist
destination is Goa. There are several factors that attract a tourist to
Goa. One such aspect is Goan wildlife. The wildlife of Goa is as
vibrant as the entire nation of India is.
There are lots of animals and birds in
Goa that are a great pleasure to watch not only to a bird lover but
also to the several tourists who come from various parts of the world.
At present, the state of Goa has six
sanctuaries within its boundaries. They are Bondla, Bhagwan Mahavir
sanctuary (Mollem), Cotigao, Salim Ali bird sanctuary (Chorao Island),
Netravali, Madei.

As a whole, the natural sanctuaries occupy
about 60 % or 755 square kilometers of the state’s area. The Goa
wildlife is extremely important as it is one of the most important
tourist attractors.
There are many tourists who consider the
wildlife of a tourist destination as an important parameter while
considering a destination. This brings the wildlife of Goa to the
limelight of the attractions within the state.

The wildlife of Goa is spread well in
the Bondla wildlife sanctuary. The green vegetation offers a natural
ecosystem. The Bondla national park comprises of a botanical garden,
deer park and rose garden in one premise.
It offers a jeep safari to visit the
deer park. The Goa wildlife is a favorite for school children and the
sanctuary comprises of deciduous forests and evergreen vegetation
patches.
There are numerous species of animals
such as snakes, bears, jungle cats, panthers, Leopard cats, various
varieties of deer, crocodiles, snakes, wild boar and Malabar giant
squirrels. The bird species include wood peckers, hornbills,
kingfishers, etc.
The Goa wildlife and its importance
can be seen in the Mahavir wildlife sanctuary. The lush greet forest
covers various animals and birds.

The Dudhsagar waterfalls and the Devil’s
canyon are of great attraction.The Mollem national park is the main
attraction. The wildlife of Goa is preserved in the Salim Ali bird
sanctuary.
Tourists get delighted to find the winged
creatures and the exotic migratory birds are of great tourist’s
attraction. The thick mangrove is fertile and the ecology is the best
for birds, insects and fish and is a natural abode.
