evidence is their historical places.

and the opulence of their culture are apparent in the dances of
Haryana. They have a great interest in dances, songs and ballads.
In fact, Haryana dances are an
integral part of their culture, without which none of their events are
complete.Haryana dances include Raas Leela.

This is a common dance in for the people
living in Faridabad district, especially the Braj area. Raas Leela is a
dance of pious ecstasy such that Lord Krishna is supposed to pervade
the universe on his own and the gopis dance to his satisfaction.
The sound of the anklets, bracelets and the
bells ring in harmony and the way the gopis sway in rhythm gives a very
graceful appearance. The dances of Haryana are many in number and one
among them is also the Phag Dance.
This is a rural folk expressed by song and
dance when they sow and harvest. Their dance has a perfect
co-ordination and the combination of their songs and dance is perfect.
However, this is performed only by men.

several dances and the Daph dance is a seasonal dance that is
associated with spring and harvest depicting joyful emotions.
Men as well as women take active
participation in this dance.
The daph is an ancient instrument and
the ornaments of the women become an integral part of this dance.
Dhamal dance is an age old Haryana dance.
The songs of the Dhamal dance relate
to the love and labor and these songs depict the hopes as well as
aspirations of the villager.
His joy and sorrows are expressed
through this dance. Musical instruments such as Been, Sarangi, Dholak
and Khartals are use in this dance.Loor is a popular Haryana dance .

This dance is performed by girls during Holi
festival. There are many more dances of Haryana such as the Gugga pir,
Jhumar dance, Ghumar dance, Khoria dance, Gangor puja dance and Sapela
dance.
The Gugga pir is a dance done by shedding
tears and beating chests using iron chains. The Jhumar dance is
performed by women with the beats of Thali and dholak. Ghumar dance is
a typical Rajasthani dance performed by women during Diwali.
Khoria dance is one of the Jhumar variety
dance with simple movements and swirling. The Holi dance is connected
to the spring festival in which both men as well as women participate.
The Gangor Puja dance is done for Lord Shiva and Parvati.
This is a devotional dance for good harvest
and is done to invoke blessings of the gods. The Sapela dance is
performed by women, where one acts as the village belle and all others
are the snake charmers.
