Goa are irregular. These forts are excellent sites for defense and are
significant Maharashtra historical places that played a vital role in
history.

The very heart of Maharashtra is the
Raigad, the capital of Shivaji Kingdom. There is a small fort on Raigad

Daulatabad is another important fort among
the various historical places in Maharashtra. It lies to the northwest
of Aurangabad. This fort is one of the most well preserved forts in the
world.
This is because the fort exhibits a series
of defenses and a lengthy wall for protection. This fort also has a
series of secret underground passages and sometimes even triple rows of
gargantuan walls.

This fort was a major naval base during the
reign of Shivaji. The Murud-Janjira was the capital of the Siddis. The
Murud is presently a great beach with betel palms, coconuts and
casuarinas trees. There is a temple to Lord Dattatreya to the north of
this fort.
This historical place in Maharashtra has
been assaulted by sea waves, yet it stands majestic. Singhagad is also
a great Maharashtra historical place to visit.
This fort has been christened as Singhagad
or Lion’s fort in memory of Tanaji Malusare, who laid down his life to
capture this fort. Apart from these forts, there are many places to
visit like Sindhudurg Pratapgad in the state.
