Famous Maharashtra temples include
Siddhi Vinayak Temple, Mahalaxmi Temple, Mumba Devi Temple, and
Babulnath Temple at Mumbai, Saibaba Temple at Shridi, Tribakeshwar
Temple at Nashik and Mahalaxmi Temple at Khollapur.
Other temples in Maharashtra include

return to their native villages to celebrate temple festivals. The
Siddhivinayak temple is the one of the oldest temples in Maharashtra,
constructed in the year 1801 and is situated in Prabhadevi.
This temple is visited by people who belong
to different religions. During Ganesh Chathurthi celebrations,
Siddhivinayak Temple gives a festive look with tremendous decorations
and special poojas. The Mahalaxmi Temple is another important
Maharashtra temple.

Mumba Devi Temple in Mumbai is an old
temple in Maharashtra. The city of Mumbai got its name from the name of
this deity, Mumba Devi.
The first inhabitants of Mumbai namely
Agris (salt collectors) and Kohlis (fisher folks) worshiped Mumba Devi
and made her their patron goddess. Mumbai became Bombay during British
rule and then recently got back its original name.
Babulnath Temple is situated in the
midst of Mumbai city. In spite of hustle bustle and busy city life, one
can find a peaceful atmosphere in this temple.

Babulnath Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva
and is often equated with Mount Kailash. Babulnath Temple is one of the
most eminent temples in Maharashtra and was built in 1780. Shirdi
Saibaba temple is one the most visited temples in Maharashtra.
Everyday thousands of devotes visit this
temple all over the country. This famous temple is situated near
Nashik, around 150 km from Mumbai. Kailash temple in Ellora is one of
unique temples in Maharashtra, especially due to its monolithic
structure.
Kailash temple was constructed after
evacuating around 200,000 tons of debris, mainly rocks. This cave
temple is full of mind-boggling sculptures and attracts millions of
tourist every year all over the world.
