The 12th century temple is located in the
shore of Bay of Bengal around 60 km from Bhubaneshwar. Jagannath temple
occupies a special place in Hindu mythology.
It is said that Lord Krishna appeared in
the dream of Raja Indradyumna, the local king and asked him to build a
temple in Puri for him.The king followed his order and built this
beautiful temple dedicating to Lord Krishna. Jagannath temple is one of
the important pilgrimage centers in India especially for Vaishnavites.

The idols of Lord Jagnnath along with
Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra are carried in a beautifully
decorated temple chariot and taken to Gundicha temple located nearby.
Hundreds of devotees pull the chariot
with chanting Vedas and Bajans and thousands follow them.

wideness the Rath Yathra. Gundicha Temple is another famous Orissa
temple situated near Jagannath Temple in Puri.Every year Lord Jagannath
visit this temple during Rath Yathra.

This is one of the oldest temples in Orissa
dated back to 6th century.Sun Temple in Konark draws very large number
of foreign tourists every year. The main attraction of this Orissa
temple is its wonderful sculptures curved on spire.
Sun temple is also called as Lingaraj
temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and also one of the most visited
temples in Orissa. The capital Bhubaneshwar has many beautiful temples.
Mukteshwar temple is located in the heart of the city and is one of the
famous temples.
This temple is the best example for the
architectural talent of Kalingas. Another important temple located in
Bhubaneshwar is Rajarani Temple. The entire temple is built using red
and gold color sand stones, hence the name come.
