The festivals of Punjab include the anniversaries and birthdays of many Gurus.The festivals are honored and the martyrdom days are celebrated with devotion.

Maghi is one of the festivals in Punjab that falls after Lohri.This is a popular festival among the Punjabis.

They give lots of things in charity and the special dish on that day is a kheer prepared from sugarcane juice.

The festivals in Punjab cannot miss one of the hilarious festivals, Holi. This is celebrated in the Phagun month on a full moon day.

This is well known as a festival of colors. Being the spring time, the flowers and fields are in full bloom and you can see people running wild smearing each other with colored water and gulal.

Holi is a symbolic commemoration from Hindu Mythology and is celebrated with bonfires burnt on the Holi eve.

This exuberant Punjab festival is associated with the love of Radha and Krishna.

This is also marked by pulsating processions accompanied by dances, folk songs and you can feel a sense of vitality.Basant Panchami is one of the significant festivals in Punjab. It creates a romantic aura and is a way of expressing gratitude to the advent of spring. Similarly, the Punjab festivals, especially the Baisakhi is significant as it marks the harvesting season.

The Baisakhi is celebrated for three days. Teej, the insect heralds the monsoon onset. Dussehra is a splendid festival and is celebrated throughout the country.

The merriment and triumph can be felt everywhere in Punjab. Diwali is celebrated in the view that it lifts the spiritual darkness and marks the initiation of a new year. Few other festivals that are celebrated in Punjab are Tika, Jarag, Roshni and Chhapar.
