This state though a desert comes alive with vibrant colors during the festivals and the major festivals is a great delight.

One such important festival is the Gangaur festival that is exclusively celebrated here with great enthusiasm and joy. The festivals of Rajasthan include the Bikaner camel festival.

Camel is a fundamental part of Rajasthan lifestyle since the immemorial times. To acknowledge the significance of this animal, this festival of camels is celebrated. The first month of the year comes alive with grand celebrations and is a grand spectacle.

The Rajasthan tourism department organized this celebration. Vibrant processions of decorated camels marching gracefully and various other activities such as camel dance, acrobats, tug of war contests, puppet shows, etc make Rajasthan festivals a grandeur occasion.

The camel dance enthralls the visitors as the camels synchronize their footwork to the music and drum beats. The Rajasthan festivals include the Desert festival celebrated in the initial two months of the year.

This is celebrated for three days and the highlight of this festival is the way they display their rich culture. The festivals of Rajasthan are always colorful and the desert festival is conducted in Jaisalmer.

Their festivals are colorful owing to their colorful attires. Their dances are energetic and songs powerful. This sets a perfect mood to involve in the festivity and celebrations.

The plethora of actions taking place in this desert festival amuses the entire crowd. The dancer’s performance and the acrobatic stunts are interesting.

The festivals of Rajasthan include the Kite festival held on 14th January on Makar Sankranti day. You can see people participating regardless of their ages. The kites reverberates the rooftops and are accompanied by drums.

The Air force helicopters release kites and school children release balloons and the entire sky shimmers with this charisma. The final day is of the fighter competition of the kites and prizes are distributed. The Rajasthan festivals include the Kajli Teej and Marwar festival.

The Teej festival is also popular as ‘Festival of swings’ where women swing on the branches of trees where they tie swings and the Mewar festival takes place in Udaipur.
