Uttar Pradesh has been a very active
state politically, and this state has perceived the advent as well as
plummet of various empires in its history.
Right from the Mughal advent till the
British departure, UP has seen and perceived everything.
It is observed that all the rulers of
Uttar Pradesh have left behind their marks in respect of architecture
and this is one of the reasons that monuments in Uttar Pradesh are very
significant.
Nawabs of Oudh, Moghuls, Talukedars
and British have contributed to the heritage of architecture of Uttar
Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh monuments have a special
tribute due to their individual and collective contributions.

Uttar Pradesh is constantly boasting about
some of the marvelous monuments in Uttar Pradesh in the entire
universe. Speaking of Uttar Pradesh monuments, the queen of all is the
Taj Mahal.
The beauty of Taj Mahal, how much ever it
is explained, the words fall short. The caliber of putting in words may
seem to be inadequate than seeing it by eyes. Taj is a place one has to
delve into and experience it. Similarly, Agra has much on its platter.

Dewan-e-Khas and Dewan-e-Aam are fabulous.
The Buland Darwaza is the highest
gateway in Asia and the Panch Mahal standing with great pride give
immense pleasure and the tomb of Akbar at Sikandara is also one of the
major attractions around Agra.
The erstwhile Oudh, and the now
capital Lucknow has many Uttar Pradesh monuments that are worth
appreciating. The popular monument among them is Bada Imambada.
This shrine is very important for the

Some of the monuments in Uttar Pradesh are
the Shah Najaf Imambara and Chota Imambada. These buildings were built
for the Oudh subjects suffering from famine. The old Hussainabad in
Lucknow has a magnificent Rumi Darwaza guarding the entrance of this
place and is notable as a monument.
There are many famous monuments of Uttar
Pradesh apart from the major historical monuments. The Residency of
Lucknow is worth considering a monument as it used to be the office cum
residence of the resident General of Oudh.
Some of the other Uttar Pradesh monuments
includes tomb of Itam ud Daulla which is also called as Mini Taj. The
Daulla tomb became the inspiration source to build the Taj Mahal.
The Kalinjari fort was built in the 7th
century and while on a tour to UP, visitors should remember these names
and make it a point to visit as the design and architecture is really
amazing.
