Uttar Pradesh is a state that has witnessed the heights and descends of several famous dynasties and rulers of Indian history.

Tourism in Uttar Pradesh houses some of the other places in Agra besides Taj, and they are the Agra fort, Chini Ka Rauza, Itmad-Ud-Daulah’s Tomb, Jami Masjid, Sikandra, Jahangir Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri and Chisti’s Tomb.

Uttar Pradesh is the heartland of religions of Hinduism and Buddhism.

Sited on the Ganges River, Varanasi is the oldest pilgrim and houses numerous temples among them are the reputed temples such as Vishwanath temple, Tulsi Manas temple, Bharat Mata temple and the Durga temple.

The tourism in Uttar Pradesh is thronged by devotees around the year and Ayodhya and Mathura are no exceptions as they also house an endless list of temples.

Uttar Pradesh tourism has a great recognition as Lord Buddha preached his first sermon here at Sarnath and some places of attraction in Sarnath are the Bodhi tree, Dhamek Stupa, Ashoka Pillar, Dhamarajika Stupa, Chaukandi Stupa and Moolgandha Kuti Vihara.

The vestige of the bygone era is evident in Lucknow and the city abodes rich culture and architectural brilliance. Uttar Pradesh tourism is considered to be incomplete without visiting renowned cities such as Allahabad, Chitrakoot, Deogarh, Jhansi, Kausambi, Kushinagar, Kalinjar, Kanpur, Mahoba and Shravasti.

The excellent road, rail and airways have enhanced the tourism in Uttar Pradesh. Accommodations are easily available in luxury as well as budget hotels and are well-known for their hospitality, services and amenities. The appropriate time to visit Uttar Pradesh is between October and March.
