This park is a good spot for picnics and
excursions. The climate of the region makes this place even more
invigorating. The Rajaji National Park was established in the year
1996. It is spread over an area of 820 square kilometers.
The wildlife that are found in this
sanctuary are wild boars, bears, sambars, chitals, kakars, monitor
lizards, pythons, tigers, elephants, panthers and also many species of
birds. There are many other places where one can witness the beauty of
wildlife in Uttarakhand.

preserved in Corbett National Park. This is the finest park along the
Ramganga river banks.
This was established as Hailey
National Park and was named in the memory and honor of a legendary
hunter who turned to become a photographer and author.
He helped in setting the park as well
as in demarcating its boundaries. The Uttarakhand wildlife has a scenic
charm adding beauty to this park.
There are lots of water birds species,
both migrant and non-migrant. Crocodiles, long snouted gharials that
are fish eating find this as their ideal abode.
The park offers various types of
vegetation comprising hilly areas, marshy depressions, ravines and
plateaus.

The Corbett National park has 51 species of
shrubs, 110 species of trees and more than 33 species of bamboo are
found here. There are more than 580 birds, 50 mammals and 25 species of
reptiles. Corbett has tigers, leopards, jungle cats, Himalayan black
bear, elephant, chital, porcupine, leopard cat, dhole, etc.
The wildlife in Uttarakhand can be seen in
the Nanda Devi National Park. It has a distinctive climate and the
wildlife here find this place as their natural habitat. The Uttarakhand
wildlife is a blend of flora and fauna. The fauna of this place
includes the Himalayan thar, serow, chir pheasants, snow leopards and
Himalayan brown and black bears.
